Four leading institutions from four countries have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the Global Vipassana Network, an international platform dedicated to promoting the teaching, practice, research, and dissemination of Vipassana meditation worldwide.
The initiative was convened by Venerable Phra Medhivajarapundit, Assoc. Prof. Dr., Abbot of Wat Mai Yai Paen and President of the Nibbana Dhamma Foundation, Thailand, with a vision of connecting mindfulness and Vipassana organizations across Asia and Europe.
Through this partnership, the member institutions aim to exchange knowledge and best practices, organize meditation retreats and educational programs, support collaborative research, and expand access to authentic Vipassana teachings across cultures and communities worldwide.
As part of its inaugural activities, the Global Vipassana Network has announced a series of international Vipassana meditation programs in 2027:
